Dabolim was selected as South Goa’s Model Solar Power Energy Village under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, with about ₹1 crore Central assistance for community solar projects.
The recognition followed GEDA assessment of seven South Goa villages. Success was attributed to the panchayat under Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav, who encouraged residents to adopt rooftop solar.
