Chicalim Sarpanch Kamla Prasad Yadav was felicitated by Goa Minister Mauvin Godinho after being honoured with the Best Sarpanch award for contribution towards rural development. The function was held at the minister’s office in New Vaddem on 28 May 2026.
Addressing reporters, Minister Godinho said Chicalim Panchayat has earned several accolades over the years and this recognition marked its seventh award. He expressed pride that the achievement came from his constituency and urged other panchayats to take inspiration from Chicalim’s cleanliness and development work.

During the same function, Godinho also felicitated Veer Kamla Prasad Yadav for being recognised as an emerging cricketer in Goa, reflecting the steady growth of cricket in the state.
Citizen-Friendly Panchayat Office
Sarpanch Yadav thanked the minister and shared that renovation of the panchayat building is in progress. The office was noted as the first panchayat building with a lift facility at the time of construction. Initiatives include uniforms and nameplates for workers and a receptionist desk with a “May I Help You” board.
