Announced at the Gomati Foundation launch on 28 July: every year, the Foundation will sponsor the complete education of ten students from economically weaker families in Mormugao Taluka.
Why “Complete” Sponsorship Matters
Partial help often fails at the worst moment - exam fees, books, uniform, transport. Complete sponsorship removes the monthly negotiation between rice and school. That is the difference between a child who attends and a child who drops out quietly.
Selection with Fairness
As reported by Goemkarponn, beneficiaries will be selected from different parts of the taluka. Geography matters. Talent is not limited to one neighbourhood; opportunity should not be either.
Linked to Earlier Education Work
This promise sits on years of groundwork: free school-bus support for Dabolim government school children, infrastructure help, and enrolment growth from around 40 to more than 150 students. The Foundation does not invent care - it organises it for the long term.
